Support for reservists balancing service and civilian careers

Reservists can enjoy both military service and a rewarding civilian career; no need to choose between the two. The Forces Employment Charity helps reservists build, grow, and progress their civilian careers alongside military service.

Our service is open to all reservists, whether you serve part-time or full-time. You will receive the same expert support as former regular service personnel. If you are looking for guidance with your civilian career, we are here to help.

Employers value what you bring

The employers we work with recognise the value reservists offer, from leadership and teamwork to problem-solving under pressure.

We help you:

  • Clearly articulate your skills and experience
  • Identify organisations that actively support reservists
  • Find roles that align with your values, availability and ambitions

Balancing service and career

Reserve service and a successful civilian career are not mutually exclusive.

We help reservists:

  • Maintain reserve capability while growing professionally
  • Improve long-term career satisfaction and stability
  • Position reserve experience as a strength, not a complication
"The Charity's support helped me retrain as a self-employed plasterer and decorator. It was my Regular Forces Army friends that advised me to contact the Forces Employment Charity; as a former Territorial soldier with two FTRS operational tours, I was not aware I qualified."
