In 2025, our employment programmes supported 6,557 clients, providing tailored, person-centred support that helped many overcome barriers and create new futures. From helping people facing complex challenges to building confidence and skills, our efforts made a measurable difference across the UK. Behind every number is a story of resilience; proof that personalised support can change lives.
Building veterans’ confidence
The Ex-Forces Employment programme supported 4,088 clients and helped 1,338 into employment. This success highlights the dedication of our advisors and the effectiveness of personalised, one-to-one support. Beyond employment results, the programme led to notable boosts in confidence and skills: 80% of veterans reported increased motivation and aspiration, while 84% improved their job-search skills, from CV writing to understanding application processes.
Sustaining positive outcomes
Despite a challenging employment market, the Veterans Support programme helped over 1,000 veterans secure sustainable employment. Advisors provided personalised support that enhanced confidence and resilience, with 85% of clients boosting their aspirations and motivation, and 94% making progress in at least one outcome area. These results emphasise the programme’s ability to promote stability and well-being even during uncertain times.
Breaking down barriers
For veterans facing the most complex challenges, such as mental health issues, housing insecurity, or involvement with the justice system, our Specialist Employment Consultants (SECs) offered holistic, needs-based support. This year, our SECs supported more than 250 veterans into employment within six months of registering, and 95% reported an improved outlook and increased motivation after engaging with an advisor. These results demonstrate the impact of compassionate, integrated support for those who need it most.
Opening doors to leadership
Our Executive Services programme helped senior military leaders transition into influential civilian roles. We delivered two bespoke workshops for more than 25 senior leaders and increased one-to-one executive career coaching sessions by 10%. Clients gained access to networks such as the Institute of Directors, unlocking opportunities to translate military leadership into executive careers. Success stories included appointments ranging from Managing Director to Senior Principal Consultant; proof that military experience is a powerful asset in the boardroom.
Empowering female veterans
Our Military Women programme offered vital support for women facing complex challenges, from homelessness to significant career disruptions. Through personalised coaching, mentoring, and digital upskilling, 91% improved their job search skills, 80% increased their motivation, and 79% enhanced their job skills and experience. These efforts created new opportunities, including careers in technology and roles in male-dominated sectors, helping women regain confidence and stability.
Opening digital doors
TechVets continued to break new ground in digital and tech careers for veterans. This year, 219 veterans transitioned into tech roles thanks to TechVets, earning a median salary of £54,000, supported by pathways developed in collaboration with major international technology companies. Over 800 new members joined our online community, gaining expert insights into cyber and tech careers. We also held our first Women in Tech event at Google HQ, with one attendee commenting, “For the first time, I could see myself in the panel members.” These initiatives, alongside collaborative work across all programmes to provide digital and data training, ensured veterans had access to skills that open doors to high-growth sectors.
Gurkha veterans find their place
Culturally sensitive support helped Gurkha veterans and their families build trust and transition into employment. Our Gurkha Advisor, Ram Galami, partnered with MDCV UK to recruit 73 Gurkha veterans and their family members. From securing training funding to preparing candidates for applications and interviews, his approach ensured people were ready for employment and saw life-changing outcomes.
Mentoring enterprise
Our Heropreneurs mentoring programme expanded its reach this year, engaging more veterans, spouses, and personnel from the Armed Forces. With applications up 55%, the programme carefully matched 101 mentees with mentors, fostering new ventures and boosting confidence. The addition of new mentors has strengthened the community, which now reflects the diversity of the Armed Forces, encompassing all branches and a commitment to inclusivity, as 10% of mentees have disclosed a disability. This growing engagement underscores the programme’s success in turning ideas into action and building vital networks.
Looking ahead
This year’s achievements demonstrate what’s possible when veterans receive the right support at the right time. From thousands of job placements to breakthroughs in confidence and capability, every success reflects resilience and determination. As we look to the future, our commitment remains clear: to continue expanding opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring every veteran has a pathway to a meaningful, sustainable career.
