TechVets wins Soldiering on Award for empowering the Armed Forces community with digital skills

The Forces Employment Charity is proud to announce that its technological programme, TechVets, has won the prestigious Education, Training and Development Award at the 2025 Soldiering on Awards.

At the glittering ceremony in London on 22 October, our team was celebrated for having transformed the lives of thousands of veterans, Service leavers, reservists, and military families by equipping them with the digital skills to thrive in today’s tech-driven world.

In 2024 alone, TechVets supported over 2,800 individuals to upskill and enabled 237 veterans to secure quality, sustainable careers in cybersecurity, IT, and data analytics. Through partnerships with leading sector employers, TechVets provides scholarships, mentoring, hands-on technical training and career pathways that unlock potential and empower veterans to succeed.

Alistair Halliday, CEO of the Forces Employment Charity, said:

“Winning this award is a tremendous honour and a reflection of the dedication and passion of the TechVets team. Our mission has always been to help veterans and their families unlock new futures through technology – and this recognition shows just how much impact that work is having. I’m incredibly proud of the team and grateful to all our partners and supporters who make it possible.”

The Soldiering On Awards celebrate the extraordinary achievements, resilience, and service beyond the call of duty of the Armed Forces community. Hosted by television and radio presenter Jeremy Vine, this year’s awards marked the 80th anniversaries of VE Day and VJ Day.

Ren Kapur MBE, CEO of the Soldiering on Awards, said:

“As we mark our 15th anniversary, we are reminded that service, resilience, and unity are timeless values. This year’s Awards pay tribute not only to our incredible finalists and winners, but also to the generations before them, whose courage continues to inspire everything we do.”
