Apprenticeships certainly aren’t new, but they’re not what they used to be. Things have come a long way since the early days of YTS (Youth Training Scheme), with many new and exciting job opportunities opening up in some unexpected and lucrative sectors.

Join Alistair Halliday and guests to learn how apprenticeships have changed and why they’re such a great opportunity for Service leavers and veterans.

The broadcast begins at 14:30 on Friday 27 January 2023

This month’s Careers Sitrep highlights why now is the best time to look for seasonal work, and how your Christmas job can turn into a permanent career.

As we say goodbye to the summer season, now is the time that many organisations begin to plan for their Christmas ‘rush’ period. This is good news for job seekers as thousands of roles become available.

The latest Careers Sit Rep will see a panel of guests discuss the opportunities that seasonal work offers the ex-Forces community, including partners and dependents, as well as top tips on where to look, how and when to apply, plus how to make the most of a seasonal role.

The broadcast begins at 14:30 on Friday 30 September.

In this edition of #TipTuesday, we talk to former Royal Marine secure data communications specialist Graeme Manzi about leaving the forces and discovering a world of opportunities after joining the TechVets community.

The advice he received from members on the TechVets Discord channel and from co-founder Mark Milton proved invaluable as he navigated the transition to civvie street.

Graeme now works as a Cyber Security Consultant but is still building skills and learning via the TechVets academy. He’s also helping others to transition to civilian careers in cyber security and tech as a volunteer.

His top tip? Use your downtime whether that’s in the military or on the outside to keep learning and preparing for the role you want to be in.

Join us to hear from military veterans, spouses and partners who faced challenges but are now in sustainable employment.

RFEA works with forward-thinking employer partners, who are passionate about workplace diversity and inclusion. Learn how employers such as Willis Towers Watson are committed to a more diverse and inclusive environment as well as wider corporate initiatives to improve ED&I.
