Surgeon Rear Admiral Calum McArthur FRCGP left the Royal Navy in April 2015 in the rank of Surgeon Rear Admiral. He has wide ranging experience in general practice, general practice training, medical management and leadership, governance and appraisal.

Since leaving the Royal Navy he has worked in general practice as well as serving as a Non-Executive Director for Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust; a Specialist Adviser for the Care Quality Commission and a Trustee with Royal Star and Garter Homes; Combat Stress, the Officers Association and most recently, the Forces Employment Charity.
