Lauren oversees the delivery of the marketing and communications function for the charity. Lauren joined the Officers’ Association in 2020 and transferred to the Forces Employment Charity during the combination in May 2022. Prior to this role she held a number of customer focused roles across the charity, sport and leisure sectors including Head of Customer Relations at the Roundhouse, Camden, Head of CRM and Membership at the Lawn Tennis Association and Head of International Agent Relations at Rugby World Cup 2015.

John Cunningham
John joined the Forces Employment Charity in 2023 and leads a team with responsibility for the executive employment programme, employer engagement and events.
A Royal Navy veteran, he served at sea across the globe as a Warfare Officer and a Lynx helicopter Observer, and ashore in a range of roles both in the UK and abroad, including the Ministry of Defence, Middle East, NATO, and the Department for International Trade. Following retirement from the RN in 2018, he worked in the education sector as a school bursar and business manager.
Iain Downie
Iain leads the team delivering the charity’s Finance, People and Infrastructure functions supporting our staff across the UK. Iain joined the Forces Employment Charity in 2021 from roles in teaching and as Head of LifeWorks at RBLI. He served in the Royal Army Medical Corps for 22 years in the UK, Germany, Bosnia and Afghanistan before retiring from service as a Commanding Officer in 2013.
Lorraine Cadle
Lorraine is responsible for the delivery of the Forces Employment Charity’s services to the CTP contract. She works closely with Right Management and the MOD. Prior to this role, Lorraine held various employment-related posts with RFEA, both within CTP and RFEA Head Office. Lorraine joined RFEA in 1999 following a short career in the Royal Navy.
Chloe Mackay
Chloe is responsible for the veterans’ services of the Forces Employment Charity, including employment programmes for ex-forces, spouses and partners of veterans, and still-serving personnel. She also has responsibility for our support to veterans in the criminal justice system, and Chairs the Cobseo Justice Cluster. Chloe joined the organisation in 2016 from the cancer charity sector following roles as Head of Strategy at Macmillan and Breast Cancer Now.
Before the charity sector, she was a management consultant and worked for ten years for PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM.
Alistair Halliday
Alistair joined RFEA as Chief Executive in January 2019 and became Chief Executive of the Forces Employment Charity following the combination with the Officers’ Association employment services in May 2022.
A veteran of the Royal Navy, Alistair has worked in corporate business, government and the voluntary sectors, with extensive experience in media communications, strategy, change and business development. He has had high-level Corporate Communications experience in government, advised many charities, ran Raytheon’s training business, and commanded three ships. He recently set up and ran the acclaimed Forces Media Academy.
